FYI - The next School Board meeting is this Thursday, July 8. The Board has capped the number of public comments to 40. If more than 40 people sign up to speak, there will be a "random lottery" to pick the speakers.

Also, Lisa Martin just covered the new school curriculum topic in the Crozet Gazette: https://www.crozetgazette.com/2021/07/02/anti-racism-curriculum-divides-henley-parents/
Thanks Sarah, I'm gonna try to sign up on tuesday when they open registration. I do believe this is increasing pressure on the board and is necessary for parents to speak up and try to stop this madness...even if the board ignores people, their dismissal will be ammunition for later efforts against them.
Will someone who viewed the recent school board meeting provide an update on Covid restrictions (masks) for the fall return to school? Also any information on public comments? So soon after the meeting, I have not found a recap online. Thank you!
Here's a link to the first part of the meeting, through public comment. ACPS has been made aware that the video stops after public comment, and they are working to add the rest.....

Thank you. This video was removed completely and is also no longer available through albemarle county public school website. I was, however, able to watch a portion of it a few days ago. Thank you!
Did anyone attend the meeting?

It was on Zoom, but yes, many were in attendance and/or signed up to speak. According to the clerk of the school board, 85 citizens signed up to speak. Of those, 40 were chosen by random lottery to share their comments during the meeting. Here is a link to the full recording of the meeting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LlfwbGgHqg

Unfortunately, the concerns have fallen on deaf ears, as the school board issues a press release yesterday doubling down their efforts and dismissing concerns as "misinformation." https://www.k12albemarle.org/our-departm...s/newsroom
